Next: July 3rd at MOHAI; Civic Social Birthday Edition Aug 21st

A small group of us gathered last night for great, wide-ranging Civic Social conversation. Somehow, the topic of birthdays came up. Lo and behold, we have three August birthdays coming up… so on the spot, we decided to throw a party!
The space is reserved, so you are all cordially invited:

Civic Social / August Birthday Party
4:30 - 6:30 PM
Thursday, August 21st
Otter Room at The Hangar, Kenmore
please RSVP

We’ll have cupcakes and time to catch up, plus I’ll break out some of the Fast Friends questions that we’ve used at past Civic Saturdays.

But first, join Mikala, my fellow Civic Fellow, for a cool event on the eve of Independence Day:

This is a FREE First Thursday event. No tickets required! Contribute to a collective art piece honoring democratic values. Discuss what it means to be an American at rotating conversation tables. What does it mean to “make it” in America? What does unity mean to you? How do you experience belonging? This promises to be a thought-provoking and meaningful event.

This next one is not until the fall, but please save the date:

2-4 PM, Sat. October 25th at Bothell Library
Bothell Community Action Fair

The first of what the library hopes to make an annual event. This is for local folks seeking volunteer opportunities, and for nonprofits to network and increase visibility in the greater Bothell/Northshore area. Participating nonprofits (so far) include Northshore Schools Foundation, Whale Scout, Hopelink, League of Women Voters, and SnoKing Watershed Council. Let’s do some civic matchmaking!

I hope your July 4th celebrations are safe and meaningful next week.

Sending civic love,
Erika
